Woohoo! Hello China. Today we had a tour of Shanghai Maritime University (SMU), our home for the next 4 weeks.
It is a massive campus that boasts a pretty sizable lake in the middle.
On our tour of the university we cam accross this contraption. We have no idea what it is supposed to be used for but anything that goes upside down doesn’t need an explanation 😀
My first meal in China was pretty tasty, although I had no clue what I was eating. I am sure this will end up being quite a common theme whilst here. At least I am already pretty nifty with chopsticks thanks to my love of sushi, watching others attempt to eat provided quite a bit of entertainment.
After the tour we made our way to a supermarket to buy some snacks, these crisps are amazing.
I also bought some rice wine. It is dirt cheap at 30p, however, it tastes and smells absolutely disgusting. Like sweet, rotting nastiness.
Time to whack on my A/C and get some sleep, let’s see what tomorrow brings.
